Where do you live?
Machester
What comics do you create?
I am a writer of comic scripts in sci-fi, fantasy, horror and superhero who enjoys writing things with a dark sense of humour and a touch of the surreal.
Which comic creators do you admire?
Grant Morrisson, Warren Ellis, Garth Ennis, Ed Brubaker, Alan Moore, Frank Miller, Brian Michael Bendis, Rick Veitch, Brian K Vaughn.
Which comics do you read?
Ultimate X-Men, Ultimate Spiderman, The Ultimates, Moon Knight, The Authority, The Boys, The Exterminators, Transmetropolitan, Sin City, Age of Apocalypse, The Invisibles, Hellboy, Sleeper, Earth X, Promethea, Hellblazer. (There are more but I'll be here forever)
About Me:
Beardy, sarcastic, menacing and a laid-back lazy son of a gun.

I am currently involved in the running of the publishing label Community Comics where I am a submissions editor and a contributor of fine stories. Want to find artists who would be willing to draw more of my scripts.

I also do live performance rap/poetry with the BlueScreen and compadre The Gremlin.

Community Comics

Hello people of the MCC!

At the behest of Adam I'm putting up a few things about the publishing label I run with my mates (who all live in wildly different places - some even as far as Portsmouth!)

Community Comics is a non-profit business created with the intent to diplay and promote high quality, mainstream appeal indie comics. There are no guidelines to the kinds of thing we accept however to create a finer degree of control and professionalism we operate a submissions policy

We're accepting submissions all the time - the next issue will be out towards the end of July so we're probably looking for stuff that will be mostly finished by the end of June. So far we've only had two essays and they were only in the latest issue- one was a discourse on Superhero films and the other was about the merits of comics as 'art.' So we've not really got any guidelines for essays as such. The best thing would be to email me at submissions.communitycomics@googlemail.com and just give me a general outline of what kind of essay you are thinking of writing and we'll go from there.

Check out my stuff - if it suits your writing send a short script (No more that 5 pages or you'll never see it!)

Thanks for joining the MCC. I hope it can help you find some artists to work with. I'm sure other members would like to hear more about your publishing set up.
