What comics do you create?

Working on a few different things, but I hope to get the first issue of something written and drawn for summer next year at the latest.

Loads. In no particular order Warren Ellis, Bendis, Mike Mignola, Mike Oeming Brian OMalley, Hiroaki Samura, CLAMP, Steve Percell, Auguste Franquin, Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, Neil Gaiman, Humberto Ramos, Jhonen Vasquez, Jamie Hewlett, Chynna Clugston-Major and more and more and more...

Which comics do you read?

Again with the loads. But for some... Powers, Blade of the Immortal, Fables, Runaways, The Invisibles, Hellboy, Scott Pilgrim, Doktor Sleepless, Invincible, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Immortal Rain, Tsubasa Resivoir Chronicles, Marsupilami, Nikolai Dante, NextWave, Transmetropolitan, X/1999 and The Sandman.

I'd love to read more European comics, because there's some beautiful stuff over there that deserves as least as much exposure as all the cool eastern stuff we get, and wish someone would translate more of them, before I wind up relearning French and doing it myself.

About Me:

I'm 23, and just graduated from an MA in Contemporary Lit and Film, some of which I got away with writing about comics in. I like both the drawing side and the writing side of things and did a couple of books on manga for young children about five and seven years ago. Since then I've been trying to develop my own style in other directions, and while it's been taking a bit of a back seat the last couple of years so that I can focus on the academia, now I'm that free I'm determined to work hard, get better and start making stuff for myself.
